Anxiety

In my college classes I’ve been having to present a lot in front of everybody. I don’t know if anyone can relate but when I’m up there, its like I can hear what I’m saying to the class but it sounds distant, compared to the loud thoughts in my head freaking out about being up there. My hands get shaky, I talk faster, and my chest feels super tight, and sometimes I forget to breathe a lot. I don’t know how to get rid of this anxiety. I don’t know why I’m nervous around people but I just want it to stop. If anyone has any advice, I would love to hear it.

I myself am a performer therefore I go up on stage a lot. Everyone suffers from stage fright and its all about finding the best way of dealing with it that works for you. Some say to imagine the audience in their underwear, others say close your eyes. Personally I like to picture myself giving the best performance of my life before I step out. Try to imagine that the audience isnt there. Imagine your in a bubble, and that its just you. I also have a little tip with the shaky hands. Wiggle your toes inside your shoes and somehow (i dont know how) it stops the hands shaking! Good luck!🍀

i agree with Anonymous 36499, wiggling your toes in your shoe, works a treat! I used to get stage fright a lot as well, keep in mind that once the presentation is over, you don’t need to do it again. Start presenting your wok in front of family first and then maybe a close group of friends, after a while your confidence will build up. Pretend they aren’t there and it’s an empty room works as well.
